カラオケ
I've been to Karaoke today ^^
For the first time since I came to Japan... I know that's hard to believe, but somehow I always managed to get around it. Which, now that I've actually been, is quite sad, cause I had a very nice afternoon, and it wasn't half as embarassing as I thought it would be ;p
I went to see a friend who will be leaving Japan tomorrow afternoon, and return to his university in California. We met in the Literature class I was taking, and spend a very nice semester (together with another Japanese guy) sitting in one of the last rows, sharing food and keeping each other awake during the three-hours-on-a-Friday-afternoon-lectur
just for those who are interested ;)
It didn't take me as long as I'd expected to decide that I'd like to give it a try as well, or basically it was decided when I found one song that I actually knew I could sing - The Calling "Wherever You Will Go". After that, I tried "Infection" by Onitsuka Chihiro - which luckily had the original video in the background, so I could follow her lip-movement ;) (and, btw, that song is even in Japanese!). And finally, while I was checking for any German songs on the programme, I found Blind Guardian - so I sang "Mirror Mirror", which of course didn't sound anything like the original - but was a lot easier to sing than I actually thought ^^
So, that was my exciting event for this afternoon... the other exciting events of this day included, of course, watching the game at four o'clock in the morning, and seeing Italian campers win against our poorly exhausted team... ah, I'm not gonna talk about that, though, since that's just gonna make me feel angry... and, however, after watching that I actually slept in (overheard TWO alarms), and missed my first two lessons, but was luckily woken up by Vinícius at 12.20h, so I could at least make it to my keigo-class at 13h... I guess my body just decided it was time I got more than three or four hours sleep a night, for once... ;)
It rained a lot here today, which I think is quite nice, and if I could decide about the weather, we'd have a lot more rain this week - everything is better than 28 degrees and stifling humidity!
